Abstract: As one of the paradigms of urban researches, scene theory resolves the great problem of gathering human capital and new industries in space, providing new ideas for urban community regeneration. It is worth noting that in recent years, Chengdu has explored the localized method of community regeneration through scene making. This paper analyzes the goals and problems of urban community regeneration from the perspective of the scene in Chengdu, generalizing its framework for scene making from practice. Then it takes Wangping Community as an example, summarizing its theatrical measures and authentic measures. The research shows that the scene making of urban community regeneration should generate values of the organic integration of theatricality and authenticity according to space, symbol, consumption and so on in order to reshape spatial symbols, construct specific situations, and create emotional resonance along with the cultivation of endogenous power for the purpose of improving both the vigor of community consumption and the attraction to the senior human capital.
